A clearer decision when time is limited.
Some choices have a deadline that will not wait for the next Roadmap review. A place in a new team may be offered, a competition may require immediate commitment, or school demands may suddenly make the existing schedule extremely hard to manage. In these moments, the 30 minute Critical Decision Session gives the family a focused space to examine and discuss one question for the athlete’s wider development with our team.
One Question, Clear Criteria, and a Defined Next Step.
Bring the decision and the facts available so far, and our team will identify the realistic options, the deadline, the criteria that matter and the likely consequences for sport, school and daily life. The aim is a reasoned direction and concrete next steps suited to each family, rather than an abstract recommendation. A short session cannot remove every uncertainty, but it can make the basis of a choice far clearer.

The kinds of choices families bring:
Sporting environment.
A change of coach, club or playing role can open a promising chapter, but it may also interrupt relationships and routines that have taken time to build. We consider the athlete’s current environment, the reason for the proposed move and what would specifically improve afterward.
Opportunity and timing.
An invitation to a camp, tryout or tournament may feel too important to decline. We examine its purpose, the level of competition, the preparation required and the opportunity cost. Will it serve a specific next step, or does it mainly add expense and disruption at the wrong moment? Careful timing can be as valuable as enthusiasm, particularly when school and recovery are already under strain.
School and workload.
When exams, training and fatigue converge, the answer may involve changing priorities for a period rather than asking the child to do more. We look at the immediate academic demands, the flexibility of the training schedule and the support available at home or school. The aim is to make a manageable decision now while protecting the athlete’s ability to continue learning and participating in sport over time.
This session offers strategic perspective on a decision. It does not diagnose or treat injury, prescribe training or replace advice from a qualified medical, psychological or other specialist. Where such expertise is necessary, seeking it is an essential part of a responsible next step.

Bring the question that matters now.
Share with us what must be decided and by when, along with the main options you are considering. Even a concise description helps us understand whether the focused session is suited to your question. If it is, we can approach the conversation with the relevant context already in view and devote the time to the decision itself.
